Proposed Rule Changes
I wanted to switch to FanTrax to make the league easier to keep up with. Between all the rules changes, FA, spreadsheet, rules that do not follow NHL rules, it can become a giant clusterfuck. Yahoo Hockey is a bit simpler than Yahoo Baseball, but I do think we would benefit from more automated/streamline service than Yahoo. But Chris said it appears a majority might not want to make the switch.
Rule 1: would be switch to FanTrax for next season
Rule 2, regardless of what happens with rule 1 would be:
- All rules must be posted prior to the start of every season. Then for one week we can propose rule changes to simply and streamline the league after reading them. We should review the rules every season not only to remind us of the rules, but find ways to make things simpler.

Fantrax has a much smoother way of calling up/down players for minors call ups. No adding needed as the players sit on your roster under minors. This allows you to call up and send down in the same day, no one day lag like Yahoo.
Further they have their own league message board similar to the old yahoo.
They also have auto start/set lineups for the week.
Fully automated draft pick trading as well, no longer have to keep track of those.
Offline draft is a great feature as well. An actual draft lobby with on the clock features and pick timer. Can easily pop in and out with alerts when otc.
IN for Fantrax.
I'm one of the others who thinks Yahoo! is circling the drain. Too many times the Y! app has failed me on lining up players properly (essentially I line it up the way I want, but the system doesn't acknowledge it correctly and leaves players I want in on the bench). The response I've gotten to that is, well, use the desktop site. That shouldn't be the answer. The app should work.
I would prefer to leave Y!. Sooner the better.
I agree. We have all been screwed by the Yahoo app including in the playoffs before.
Going to the desktop is not reasonable in a mobile world. We need to make the league easier to compete and access, not harder, which is what Yahoo makes it do.
This also would also help Chris out tremendously with the league.
agree with rule 2. I'd actually say a step further in that they should always be accessible. So i guess if posted at beginning of season then we are set since you can find it on the board.
I have heard that Fantrax might be better but for me i don't have time to learn it or deal with a switch so if the league votes to move, I will retire and let someone else take my place.
Ok, I will dig up the original baseball rules and copy and paste them on the board. I will also look up all new rules that we have voted on from the board since this board has been up. It's possible some rules might be missing from the era of when Yahoo still had a message board, If anyone wants to contribute to finding them and adding them, go for it. If anybody remembers any rules that are in the league but not in the post, feel free to add them. Going to do the best I can here.
As for switching to Fantrax, we know where Jason, Alex, Felix and Ted stand on it.
But does anyone else want to support moving to Fantrax to put it up for a vote?
I've talked to all of you and you've told me where you stand so I don't think it's necessary to put this up for a vote unless someone else speaks up and says they would support moving to Fantrax.
