Rule Change Proposal: Position Eligibility
Quote from Chris on August 18, 2024, 3:37 pmSo Yahoo used to update position eligibility on their own. But they don't do it anymore.
They now give the commish of the league the option to be able to add position eligibility to any skater.
For example, Yahoo has Zegras as only a C, but he plays more LW than C.
Daily Faceoff updates their lineups every game: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/anaheim-ducks/line-combinations
To keep it simple, I propose the rule be that if a player shows up in a Daily Faceoff lineup in a new position, like Zegras at LW, then the team can request the commish to add that position to their eligibility.
It's not perfect, it'd be great if we had something like Baseball Reference's fielding game log. But it's better than the alternative which is that players stay locked at the same position all season.
I've already texted a lot of you and a few guys have already said they'll vote in favor, so we'll put it to a vote. Needs 6 YES votes to pass.
